DARS SAPR

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q:  What is a SAPR?

A:   A Student Academic Progress Report (SAPR) is a degree audit that shows how your UA and transfer courses, along with credit by exam, apply to the specific requirements of your academic program. A SAPR is an unofficial document used primarily for advising and for tracking your progress toward completing your degree. The SAPR indicates which requirements are complete and what has yet to be completed for graduation.

Q:  How will transfer courses from other schools and credit by exam show on my SAPR?

A:  Transfer credits and credit by exam (CLEP, AP, etc.) will be included on the SAPR, either as the UA equivalent course (if it can be identified) or general elective credit. If the transfer course meets a specific degree requirement, it will be listed with that requirement. If it is nontransferable or general elective transfer credit, it will be listed at the end of your SAPR. The total transferable units from each institution and/or credit by exam will be listed at the beginning of the SAPR.

Q:  Will my Grade Point Average (GPA) from other institutions be calculated with my UA GPA?

A:  No, your transfer GPA is only used for admission purposes; it will not appear on your SAPR. Only your UA grades will be used in the calculation of your UA GPA on the SAPR.

Q:  Is there a limit to how many transfer credits can be counted toward my UA degree?

A:  Yes, no more than 64 community college units will count toward your UA degree, although all transferable courses may apply toward specific degree requirements. There is no limit on the number of transferable units from 4-year institutions, as long as you earn a minimum of 30 units at the University of Arizona (University Credit). Check with your academic advisor on the specific transfer credit limits for your academic program.

Q:  What do I do if I have questions about my SAPR?

A:  If you have questions about your SAPR, if it is incomplete or does not list transfer courses accurately, you should contact your academic advisor.

Q:  What does the green and red text mean on my SAPR?

A:  The green text means you have completed that particular requirement. The red text shows which requirements still need to be completed.
